China telecom issued an analysis and forecast report on power supply and demand situation in the first half of the year

The China electric power enterprise association has released an analysis and forecast report on the national electricity supply and demand situation in the first half of 2018.The China electricity council forecasts that total social electricity consumption will increase by more than 7 percent year-on-year in 2018, exceeding the growth level in 2017.

In the first half of this year, the country's electricity supply and demand were generally relaxed, but the degree of slack was significantly smaller than in the previous two years, with a few areas experiencing peak load limits. In the first half of this year, China's total electricity consumption reached 3.23 trillion kWh, an increase of 9.4% year-on-year, increasing by 3.1 percentage points year-on-year.The main reasons for the rapid growth of electricity consumption in the whole society are as follows.Second, weather factors and residents' consumption upgrade together pull the influence;Third, the service sector maintained rapid growth.Fourth, continuous promotion of electric power replacement. In the first half of the year, the clean and low-carbon electricity development trend was obvious, and the high-quality development results were obvious.By the end of June, the installed generating capacity of China's 6000kW and above power plants was 1.73 billion kW, up 6.2 percent year-on-year, with the growth rate falling 0.7 percentage points year-on-year.Among them, 300 million kW of hydropower, 1.11 billion kW of thermal power, 36.94 million kW of nuclear power, and 170 million kW of grid-connected wind power.

The growth rate of electricity consumption in the second half of the year is expected to slow down compared with that in the first half of the year. The growth rate of electricity consumption in the whole year of the year is better than expected at the beginning of the year, exceeding the growth rate of 2017.It is estimated that 120 million kW will be added in the whole year, and the installed capacity will reach 1.9 billion kW by the end of the year.
